Lisburn Foodbank’s 10 Year anniversary!!

5th June 2023

What we’ve been up to: our 10 year anniversary

We were delighted to hold our 10 Year Anniversary at the beginning of June, recognising our amazing volunteers, supporters, and the work which they have enabled us to do within the community over the last 10 years. The generosity of all of these groups is absolutely key to sustaining our work, and donations upped by 9% in 2022-23, rising to meet need.

We spent the night reflecting over the last 10 years and how the need for our services has continued to grow. In 2022-23 we distributed 181% more food than in 2017-18, 5 years ago; and we supported nearly 4,000 people through the Foodbank alone.

We shared some testimony videos of clients who have used our services to highlight both the challenges they have overcome, and the impact our services have had on their lives. Keep an eye out for these videos on our Facebook page over the coming weeks! This is a glimpse of what Sarah said about what our support means to her:

I know I could walk here at any time ‘I need to talk’ and there’s someone there at the drop of a hat. I would love to do more, like give back a bit, I can never give back the help I’ve had, but, try.

No one should have to struggle as much as Sarah has to keep afloat. As a food poverty charity we do not want to see the need for our services continuing to grow, we do not want this to be the end of the story.

Which is why we need your help!
